Katalin Beleznai
I graduated as a singing and music teacher, and choral conductor at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy in 2007. At the same time I finished the faculty of the music theory teacher here. At the university and even since the high school I wanted to sing in a group like Discantus. My old desire is fulfilled in 2006 and since then I am a member of the group. My work is bound to the music too, I teach music in a primary school. I remained a student myself too, as I take private singing lessons from Éva Lax. I believe that I owe Discantus a lot at all aspects of life, even with my husband, we found each other here.

Zoltán May
I joined the group in the spring of 2009 to help Discantus preparing for choir competition in Tolosa by substituting a former member basically but after this succesful event I stayed in the group and now I’m a member of the bass part. My profession is chemist (scientific researcher - ELTE) and I have PhD in this field but singing and music play an essential role in my life as an inheritence from my family. Since 1997 I’m a member of the Erkel Ferenc mixed choir, between 2001 and 2002 of Budapesti Akadémiai Kórustársaság (Gábor Hollerung), and I sang in Purcell Choir in the period of 2007-2009. I began to study singing from 2001 in Molnár Antal School of Music and later my masters were Zsuzsa Misura and Péter Hercz. Renaissance music is my big favorite so singing in Discantus has a very great pleasure for me and I can learn a lot about this style of music in this group in a very high level. I’m also fond of music of ’lighter’ style and with my vocal groups (My Friends Vocal, Cafe Beber) I can do this kind of music (gospel-spirituals-jazz) which I love very much too. Instrument I’ve learnt is guitar (classical and jazz).
