TAX 1%

We are grateful to all of you who have been helping us in previous years, and are now asking you to come forward again and support our vocal ensemble – without costing you a penny!

As you probably know, Hungarian taxpayers are given the chance to decide where 1% of their tax should go – the central budget or a non-governmental organisation.

During its 15 years of existence, the Discantus Vocal Ensemble has won awards at international competitions and festivals, contributing to Hungary's reputation, and last year, thanks to generous support, it released a new CD. Discantus has recorded some rare gems of Spanish Renaissance church music, including the Requiem by Tomás Luis Victoria. Discantus has also set up a new website providing even more information about the group and upcoming events at www.discantus.hu. We wish to thank everyone for their help!

Following numerous concerts abroad, this year we would like to address our home audiences and give more concerts in Hungary. In an effort to take this much-neglected yet extremely valuable genre to a wider circle of audiences, we seek to remain true to our word and keep our concerts free events in spite of difficult economic circumstances.

We therefore ask your support!
